Lars - Assistant Vice President, Environment Services, with SimCorp since December 2004

From day one I expressed my wish to go the managerial way. After one year I was offered the opportunity to become a manager of a group and I accepted the offer. Since then I have been a manager for three different groups and today I head up 35 people as AVP for the Environment Services department. The department provides the foundation for our development and test environment, in order to ensure we meet our business requirements. Our responsibilities include all activities related to environments, tools, productupgrade and the operation of these activities. The department name symbolises the fact that the department not only delivers environments and tools but also covers areas of responsibility concerning the coordination between units, which ensures that everybody gets their deliveries completed in due time.
When I think back on the time when I started in SimCorp, I was very impressed with the education programme that I was offered. First of all I received my education plan a month before I started in SimCorp. The first month of my employment I attended SimCorp Academy where I learned about the system - SimCorp Dimension from A-Z but also creating a good network with the 24 other new employees in SimCorp. The second thing I remembered was the introduction day with our Executive Management Team. All new employee from the entire world were flown into Copenhagen where our top management team introduced our business and the SimCorp values. During the next couple of months I had a tutor, who acted as a coach and mentor, and help me with the professional challenges that I faced. I will never forget the support I was given by my tutor and I still seek advice when facing difficult challenges.
I have had an exciting career with an excellent and challenging work day. I've grown professionally as well as personally over the last four an half years and I’m looking forward to the coming years.

How in your opinion does SimCorp promote talent?
Each year, SimCorp runs a ‘high potential programme’ giving top performers the possibility to develop and solve business critical issues for SimCorp’s Executive Management Team. Only top performers are elected for the programme. The programme is a structured approach to developing talent, based on actual business challenges. During the programme, the participants are evaluated continuously against SimCorp’s high expectations to High Potentials. When the programme is completed, each participant has generated a personal development plan that is linked to SimCorp’s business needs and ones personal wishes.
One of the key benefits from working at SimCorp is the ability to tailor your work to fit your private life. We believe that a friendly, informal working environment brings out the best in people. Personally, I can work on the train utilising my transport time. Furthermore, we have flex time which gives you the opportunity to work late hours if you have private appointments during the day.
What are your expectations
when hiring talent to your department?
Personally, I have high demands for the employees in my group. I expect them to have high professional skills and to put them into action.
